The Alaska Runners Club is a non-profit organization serving runners in Anchorage Alaska by organizing races, group runs and special events that connect, educate and encourage runners of all ages and abilities.

Mission: Alaska Runners Club (Akrunners) foster and support the running community in Anchorage through team races, clinics, training programs, fitness challenges, and community events. Akrunners believes that running is a way of life. By collaborating with local runners and organizations in our community, we make running accessible to as many people as possible.

Event Details:

  • Event will be held at the BLM Anchorage Field Office (4700 BLM Rd, Anchorage, AK 99507)
  • Race Registration are limited, we will update race capacity soon.
  • Main timed race starts at 9:30am, Walk/Run (un-timed)  Starts 9:35
  • Race day Packet Pick-up open at 7:35am
  • Warm-up exercises for participants start at 8:45am

Top 3 Fastest Women & Men Overall: Top 3 fastest times of all BusinessCHALLENGE registered runners
Fastest Overall Team: Each team will score the fastest 5 times to combine to a total team time. Fastest team times will be awarded. Fastest team members must be employees to participate in this competition. Does your team have what it takes to be crowned the fastest?

Age Awards: Participants will compete in the following male and female age groups. Age group prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each age group (Timed Race). Winners must be present at the finish line to receive their award. Results will be posted and prizes available at the post race award ceremony.

Packet Pickup:

  • You must present valid photo ID when picking up your packet.
  • Someone else is permitted to pick up your packet with a copy of your photo ID.

Event Parking: Parking will be limited and we encourage to carpool. We will provide more info regarding parking soon.

Safety & Rules: We want everyone to enjoy a fun and safe on race day. Here are the do’s and don’ts for the day:

  • Running with little ones: Backpacks are great for walking with kids that can’t do it on their own. Due to the uneven surfaces, strollers and baby joggers are not allowed.
  • Anything beyond your own two feet: You can walk, jog, sprint or skip – but please don’t bring bicycles, in-line skates, or anything else that lets you roll or bounce your way to the finish.
  • Walking or running with friends and family: It’s great to enjoy the day with your friends and family, but keep it to three abreast or less along the course so others can get by.
  • Costumes: Go ahead and dress up however funny, funky or silly you like, but make sure your costume doesn’t extend beyond your body or connect you with anyone else.
  • Rocking out: Feel free to bring along your iPod and headphones, just keep the volume low enough that you can hear any instructions from course marshals.
  • Pets: Fido is a great training partner, but you’ll need to leave all pets at home on race day.

Volunteer With Your Group

Be apart of Race Day! You can help your non-profit group and help the race at the same time! In exchange for your help on race day, we will make a donation on your behalf to your non-profit organization for each registered volunteer that works on race day. Each group has one or several specific jobs so your whole group can work together. You will receive a race volunteer shirt, snack bag and a front row seat to our awesome 5k race!

Tribute Directional Mile Marker Signs:

Dedicate a sign to a loved one or in honor of someone. Tribute Directional Maker signs are available for purchase for $100 to help support Akrunners: Campbell Tract 5k. The signs (18”x24”) will be placed along the walk-route for everyone to view. After the walk is over, you are welcome to take the sign with you.
